In-Slab Air Duct Cleaning with Camera Inspection

We inspect ducts beneath the concrete slab using specialized camera equipment to ensure the system is properly cleaned and evaluated.

Many homes have air ducts installed beneath the concrete slab, where debris buildup or damage can occur out of sight. Using camera technology allows us to see inside the ductwork and verify the condition of the system while the cleaning is being performed. If any issues are found, we develop a plan to restore the ductwork using our Duct Armor® product.

• To confirm that all solid debris has been removed from the system

• To ensure proper equipment is used so fragile ductwork is not damaged during the cleaning process

• To allow a camera to travel the full length of the ductwork so we can diagnose breaches or damage

• To help identify rusted, gapped, cracked, or inefficient ducts and create a plan to resolve those issues

Is duct cleaning really beneficial?

Like anything else today, you get what you pay for. If you hire an air duct cleaning company that specializes in thorough and complete work, then absolutely, it is beneficial. If you hire a company that does not use agitation, such as whips in the ductwork, along with vacuum to remove everything, then it may be better to let sleeping dog lay. Always ask for the cleaning process  and quote in writing. This way, you know what to expect and should get what you are paying for.

When is the best time to schedule the cleaning of ductwork during a remodeling project?

Once the messy sanding of walls and floors is complete, the air ducts should be thoroughly cleaned of debris. Often times, we are the last contractor on the job. We go out of our way to be sure that no debris from the duct system can escape into rooms during the cleaning process.

Is it beneficial to clean the ductwork in a brand new home or building?

Absolutely! Construction debris is buoyant, ashy and sticky and clings to everything. When the furnace or air-conditioning kicks on, that debris flies all over the building. Customers will note that curtains, upholstery, windows, tables, flooring, bedding, and televisions will soon have a fine coating of dust on them. We come in, and remove all that buildup that is in the air duct system, so that your home or office will remain cleaner for much longer. The furnace will last longer when it’s not struggling to breath through the debris.

How often should I have my ductwork cleaned?

The honest answer depends on how thorough the initial cleaning was. If you hire a company that performs a very superficial cleaning, then obviously, you're going to notice dust sooner than later.  If the ductwork is cleaned using the Source Removal Method, which is what we use, it means that all ductwork is cleaned thoroughly. Both agitation with whips and air must be run through every inch of every duct, branch run and trunk line on both the supply and return sides of the system. Fuel powered vacuum must be used to pull out ALL of the loosened material from the ducts and furnace. Most of our customers reschedule after 5 or so years.
